Twenty five Llanfairfechan youngsters are visiting our twin town, Pleumeleuc in Brittany this weekend, following the visit to Llanfairfechan of Les Pleumeleucoises in 2011. The party of 13-17 year-olds represent the town's young football teams, with their coaches and other adults making a party of 49 in total, will be welcomed this Saturday, 7 April 2012, by Pleumeleuc families.
A programme of events is planned for the visit:
Sunday 08 April 2012 - Soccer Sunday:
From 9:30 pm, this Sunday, April 8, football matches will be held at the stadium municipalde Pleumeleuc. Youth association Pleumeleuc-Bédéemeet those of Llanfairfechan, operating in mutual ages.
For seniors who wish from 14h: a game of shuffleboard and a stroll along the Vaunoise will be offered.
A ceremony of return will be held on Sunday at 5:30pm, to formalise the twinning of our two towns with the inauguration of a signboard at the entrance to Pleumeleuc and by the planting by the mayor. "The Bro Gozh my zadoù", the Welsh and Breton anthems, as well as the European anthem will be sung during the cocktail reception that will follow.
At about 8-8:30pm, a festive meal will end the day.
Monday 09 April:
A visit to Mont Saint-Michel.
Tuesday, April 10
The Llanfairfechan youngsters will complete their stay by spending some time with their Pleumeleucoises counterparts, while the rest of the party will finish their visit with a tour of Montfort.
The visit to our Breton friends will be a fitting way to celebrate the twining of our two communities.
