This site's Forums, Guest Book and other user-interactive facilities (referred to collectively hereafter as "Forums") are intended to facilitate the free and open discussion of issues, and exchange of information, relating to Llanfairfechan, between individuals with an interest in the town.

The site is run on a completely voluntary and unremunerated basis; the only funding received is from the Llanfairfechan Tourism and Amenities Association (in whose name the site is presented), for its annual hosting and domain name renewal fees.

While lengthy rules and regulations are not a desirable thing for their own sake, it can not be assumed that all users of the site are responsible people. Sadly, experience has proven this to be the case.

The conditions of acceptable use of this site described below are therefore intended to:

# Provide guidance for the standards of behaviour expected within the Forums.

# To protect the integrity and credibility of the site in its stated aims.

# To ensure that its general users are shown the respect that they are entitled to expect.


CONDITIONS OF ACCEPTABLE USE:

# Unregistered visitors are welcome to view the site, but must register to submit messages to the Forum. But - registration is FREE - so why not just register?

# It is expected that the exchanges within the site's facilities in general, and Forums in particular, will be objective and courteous.

# It is to be expected that people's opinions on any given topic may differ, and that debate within the Forums may ensue. While this principle is accepted, the debate must be conducted in a dignified and respectful manner. Freedom of speech comes with responsibilities.

# Harrassment and foul, abusive, insulting, accusatory, or defamatory language is unacceptable. Any such postings will be removed and / or topics locked, without redress.

# Living persons must not be named in Forums, or personal details of any kind divulged, without the subject's knowledge and consent.

# The Forums must not be knowingly used for any purposes which contravene the laws (e.g. libel, defamation, copyright, harassment, etc.) of the United Kingdom, or of the country in which the perpetrating user resides.

# The Forums must not be used for the promotion or direct selling of commercial products or services of any kind.

# Any messages that contravene these principles will be removed, and if it persists, the offending user's registration terminated. In extreme cases, IP address blocking will be applied, and the user's Internet Service Provide informed of the abuse.

# The Site Administrator's decision will be final, and will be applied with the above principles being the governing factor.
