Does anyone have any old pictures of that lovely little street in Llanfairfechan, I know its a slim chance but would be lovely to see. Many happy an hour spent playing down there as a child.

GERIZIM

Gerizim, Arabic Jabal at Tur, mountain, 2,890 ft (881 m) high, in the Samaritan Hills, in the West Bank. Nablus, near the ancient Shechem, lies in the valley between Gerizim and Mt. Ebal. Gerizim is sacred to the Samaritans, whose tradition holds that Abraham's offer to sacrifice Isaac occurred there. The 300-year-old Samaritan temple at Gerizim, a replica of the Second Temple in Jerusalem, was destroyed by the Maccabean leader, John Hyrcanus, in the 2d cent. &BC; (Joshua 8.33; Judges 9.7; John 4.20,21). Excavated ruins lying below a Byzantine church on Gerizim are believed to be those of the replica, whose history is described in the writings of Flavius Josephus.

Yes I do have a couple of old photos of Garizim Terrace or as it was sometimes called "Lawr Tai"

The question is how far back do people remember it?

I can only remember AFTER they started demolishing a few of the houses. Not the when the entire street was still up sadly.

I do remember coming out of my nain and taids house one day and finding a starfish on the doorstep...which (bear in mind I was a little lad) WHIZZED back over the wall and railway line and hopefully into the sea!!

i remeber it alright, only trouble was that I lived on the otherside of town, towards Aber...

There used to be a pub on at the top left, which closed down a long time ago... It was called the Black Lion.......

My Father's eldest Brother ,lived accross the road at a semi detached property, called Tan Marian !

Hi

Did any photos of Gerizim get posted? I can't find them. My Nanna was born there in 1901 and i would love to see them if someone can point me in the right direction!

Not many people know this, but I remember a pub at the top of Gerizm, called the Black Lion....
