A LORRY driver was quizzed by police after a truck crashed 20ft down an embankment.

Emergency crews were alerted to the incident on the A55 expressway near Llanfairfechan at 10.35pm on Wednesday evening.

Paramedics found the driver of the lorry outside the overturned vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor suffering from minor injuries. He was later questioned by officers about the incident.

A North Wales Police spokeswoman said: "Officers are investigating the circumstances of the incident and are appealing for witnesses to contact police."

Two fire appliances from Conwy and Llanfairfechan were joined at the scene by an emergency tender from Colwyn Bay.

Traffic was diverted through Llanfairfechan.
