Travelling to Llanfairfechan by road

Llanfairfechan is situated conveniently between junctions 14 and 15 on the A55 Expressway, enabling both Chester and Holyhead to be reached by car in just under an hour. The A55 links to the English motorway network (M53 and M56) near Chester.

All car parking in Llanfairfechan is free of charge. There are car parks on Station Road and at the Promenade, as well as street-parking (yellow-line restrictions applying in some areas) throughout the town.

The nearest international airports are Liverpool and Manchester, which are both approximately an hour and a half away by road. Birmingham International Airport can be reached directly from Llanfairfechan by rail.

Travelling to Llanfairfechan by Rail

The town has its own (unmanned) mainline railway station, with direct trains to Holyhead, Chester, Crewe, Birmingham and Manchester. London trains stop at nearby Llandudno Junction.

Llanfairfechan is served by three bus routes:

  • Arriva No. 5 & 5x Services: Operating between Caernarfon, Bangor & Llandudno Stops at: – The Heath, Penmaenmawr Road – Y Bont, Penmaenmawr Road – The 5 service also stops at Abergwyngregyn
  • Arriva No. 75: Conwy Clipa Service: Operating between Ysbty Gwynedd (Bangor), Llanfairfechan & Llandudno. Stops at: – The Heath, Penmaenmawr Road. – Health Centre, Village Road – Nant Y Felin – Y Bont, Penmaenmawr Road.
  • No. 75a Llanfairfechan Clipa Service: This convenient local service connects Llanfairfechan Railway Sation with many points around Llanfairfechan.

There is also an Express coach stop, with services to London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds. The frequent coastal service has buses to Bangor, Caernarfon, Conwy and Llandudno.
