Summer Holiday, 1915

The pictures in this collection were supplied by Andrew Hinchliff, from a photograph album which was found quite by chance in a junk shop in Leeds, Yorkshire.

The album contained many photos of a family on holiday, in Llanfairfechan, plus a picture of an Abergwyngregyn cottage and resident (included here), and other North Wales resorts. Some of the pictures are dated September 1915, but apart from this, unfortunately, we have no further details.

However, the pictures are an interesting insight to life during a period of great turmoil, the First World War, when men of Llanfairfechan were fighting and being killed in foreign fields.
