The Festival will last for three weeks, and as well as a static exhibition by local Historical Societies in the Community Centre's Main Hall, it is planned to provide a varied programme of FREE events that will cover a wide range of topics, and be conducted by organisations - local history groups and professional organisations. There is sure to be something to interest anyone with even a passing interest in North Wales' history.

[16 Aug. - 22 Aug.] [23 Aug. - 29 Aug.] [30 Aug. - 4 Sep.]
The events will include:
-
An exhibition. The National Library of Wales and The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historic Monuments of Wales will both be contributing by lending exhibition material, staff and arranging talks during the three weeks of the festival.
-
Guided coach tours to local historic sites, sponsored by local companies, are being organised. These trips will depart from outside the Community Centre on Saturdays and Sundays, and will link with historical sites in North Wales, which will also have display information about their individual sites in the exhibition.
-
A programme of lectures during the three weeks of the Festival, including lectures by the National Library of Wales, the Royal Commission on the Ancient & Historical Monuments of Wales, Archaeology in Snowdonia and some of the North Wales Archive offices. We are also in discussion with the World Heritage Committee, who we hope will present a lecture on Heritage Sites in Wales.
-
A programme of professional lectures will take place on the afternoons (Monday - Friday for the three weeks of the Festival, between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm in the Council Chamber above the Main Hall). Display boards will be provided in this area so that each lecturer can display any material relevant to their talk.
-
A programme of morning lectures (Monday - Friday for the three weeks of the Festival, between the 11:00 am and 1:00 pm in the Council Chamber), in which a number of the societies will provide a speaker to talk on a subject relevant to their own areas of history. It also provides the Societies with an opportunity to speak about their group's work, and to promote & sell any of their publications or materials. They may also advertise their Winter programmes, and any trips that they have organised.
-
A series of guided historical walks. The Llanfairfechan Historical Society has been asked to provide a series of guided historical walks starting at the Community Centre. The walks provided by the Society in the past have been very informative and varied, and cover the mountain landscape, farming, the village and the coastline, and will provide another interesting facet to the whole Festival.
